I’ve got a bad feeling about this… Disney has acquired Lucasfilm for the measly price of $4.05 billion. Pocket change at most. For Disney that’s great news, but Star Wars fans, brace yourselves. Seriously, take a seat, and prepare the paper bag for breathing.
There’s a new Star Wars movie to be released in 2015. Cue the jaw dropping mixed emotions about the bomb that was just exploded in your min
One can only hope that Disney wont drop the ball on producing episode 7. There are so many questions that will need to be taken into account, and this isn’t a franchise that can be easily tampered with, or else Disney will forever feel the bashing of all the nerd rage in the world.
There is a little light at the end of the tunnel, Disney does own the rights to Marvel, and they have produced some of my favorite movies. And let’s face it, it can’t get much worse than Phantom Menace. (Random thought, they should have a Jar Jar scene in the new Star Wars, like a cut scene to the past where he’s getting savagely beaten by pit droids with shovels or something. Or he could somewhat redeem himself by being a badass like Samuel Jackson in Pulp Fiction. I don’t know, ok back on topic).
Anyway, Disney, please for the love of all that is holy, do not mess this up. Star Wars fans have been tortured with three prequels, please don’t continue the torture with terrible sequels. We would rather spend the next 1000 years being slowly digested in the Sarlacc pit. And no weird musical numbers by aliens with long mouths for no reason!
Help us Disney, you’re our only hope.
